The Gala is a fundraising event held in support of the residents at the home. Through generous donations, it provides funding that will help the residents with all comfortable living needs – including new beds.
The UHS Gala is an event that Silverpoint has now participated in for three years. We use our own abilities to tell the residents’ stories to the gala attendees. This year’s event was again held at the very beautiful Angus Glen golf club, Markham.
With the above initiative as our focus, I really want to bring the attention of my team to light as they generously gave their time and efforts towards creating content for the gala. For three years, we have worked alongside Maria Dimson (Director, Communications & Development Services) and Debra Cooper Burger (President & CEO, UHS) to create the print design, banners, and films that play during the evening.
I have to give special thanks to Ray who provided all the print design for the program, signage, as well as the banners.
Stan, Josh, Jennifer and our newest team member, Timon, for filming, editing, and producing the films on screen.
Also last, but not least, to these two team members: Adrienne for taking her time to interview and put together all the scripts for the films and Serena for providing all the beautiful photographs that were used for the Annual Report, as well as all the visuals on the print materials and banners.
I believe in what UHS has to offer the community and to our elderly who have contributed to the great world that surrounds us. To have a team at Silverpoint, one that I get to lead and be a part of, that dedicates all their heart and time to UHS is a true testament to who I am surrounded by.
I have to hold true to my heart: these people are some of the most incredible that I have ever met in my life.
