Business Development Specialist

Business Development Specialist

We are looking for a driven and tenacious Business Development Specialist who has experience in the media, video or creative agency field. If you’re passionate about film, the arts and technology, you will fit right in with us.

The Business Development Specialist reports to the CEO and COO.

As a Business Development Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Your main focus is to setup meetings and appointments for our executive team
  • You will be calling and approaching C-level clients predominantly in Ontario
  • Identifying business opportunities by researching different industries and markets
  • Develop strategic approaches that fulfill the needs and solutions of our customers
  • You will be responsible for qualifying organizations and businesses based on certain criteria
  • Proactively seek and identify opportunities to develop a strong sales pipeline
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships externally with clients and internally with all Silverpoint team members
  • Meet and/or exceed assigned targets for pipeline creation
  • Assist in the development of sales and marketing plans
  • Research into competition, trends and new product ideas
  • Use social media and other tools to gain prospects and competitive market intelligence
  • Proactively generates and qualifies leads

Skills and qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, and/or courses in sales training
  • 2+ years of experience in a sales role with a proven track record in sales
  • Ability to provide strategic solutions for our clients’ needs
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, professionally and create compelling reasons to use our service over the phone
  • Experience in making a high volume of outbound sales calls
  • Experience working with c-suite and high profile clients
  • Strong knowledge in Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Experience with entering opportunities and activities into a CRM
  • An interest in the creative industry, with a high level of drive, motivation and discipline

We are looking for talented and passionate freelance writers to join our team at Silverpoint Media. The ideal candidate is experienced, non-conformal, and a great collaborator. Our writers work on a variety of productions including corporate films, short films, documentaries, and commercials. As a writer for the team, you will be responsible for working closely with the director, production manager and producer of the projects assigned. You will be responsible for creating plot lines, dialogue, characters and situations.

As a Writer, you will be responsible for:

  • Script writing for corporate, commercial, and film projects
  • Information gathering and evaluating on a variety of topics
  • Collaborating with creative teams to develop compelling narratives
  • Taking an active role in shaping themes and messages in client projects
  • Researching and pre-interviewing subjects prior to shoots
  • Attending client meetings to support project discovery and creative pitches
  • Travelling locally and internationally to filming locations
  • Preparing shooting scripts for the production team
  • Quality control, edit, proofreading, and producing final scripts
  • Using visual/audio cues in scripts
  • Applying different writing styles and tones as appropriate to video and audience
  • Articulating the Silverpoint brand, voice and key messages in variety of materials

Editor (Freelance)

We are looking for talented and passionate freelance editors to join our team at Silverpoint Media. As the film and video editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded raw material into an excellent finished product, this may include commercials, corporate films, short films and documentaries. The material may include footage from multiple cameras, dialogue, sound effects and graphics. As a key role in the post-production process, you will be working closely with the director and production manager to achieve the desired end result.

As an Editor, you will be responsible for:

  • Ability to handle the picture edit, sound and colour grading
  • Editing the film or content based on the director’s creative vision
  • Researching and understanding the purpose of the film, in addition to the intended target audience
  • Pulling interviews and b-roll
  • Organizing footage to fulfill the vision of the creative lead assigned on each project
  • Developing simple titles and motion graphics
  • Syncing audio and converting footage into proper file formats
  • Diligence in using proper naming formats and keeping content as organized as possible
  • Rendering, exporting and converting footage
  • Reordering and fine-tuning the content to ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
  • Delivering a quick turnaround on requested internal and external (client) revisions
  • Experience working in Adobe Premiere

We are looking for talented freelance cinematographers who are passionate about visual storytelling. As a Cinematographer, you will be responsible for working in conjunction with the rest of the camera, lighting and sound crew. You will also help oversee the selection and manipulation of technical equipment to create beautiful and striking images on screen. You will work closely alongside our director and production manager.

As a Cinematographer, you will be responsible for:

  • Must be extremely knowledgeable in camera equipment, the use of different lenses, filters, lighting techniques and camera movements to create the desired effects to prompt different responses
  • High attention to detail and the ability to be creative to make decisions and be an effective problem solver
  • Responsible for making decisions about aspect ratio, digital effects, image contrast, and frame rates
  • Ability to dissect the script and liaise with the director to discuss their creative ideas
  • Ability to meticulously plan the technical execution of each shot, along with the equipment that will be required

We are looking for talented freelance Sound Recordists who are passionate about storytelling. As a sound recordist and mixer, you will be responsible for working closely with the director and cinematographers. You will be responsible for ensuring the following:

As a Sound Recordist, you will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for recording film/video production dialogue and sound
  • Working as a team with the director and cinematographer(s) on set to determine how to address and record every scene, operate sound recorder, maintain sound reports, notify the director (or AD) of any sound problems
  • Ability to operate boom mic, carrying both the recorder and the mixer; sound must be recorded simultaneously at the same speed as recorded pictures to maintain synchronisation or sync between the separate recordings
  • Diligent in keeping sound levels consistent
  • Ensure we are providing clients with the top soundtrack; clean, intelligible, first-rate audio quality
  • Ability to think on your toes and think creatively to solve problems
  • Excellent hearing, high attention to detail and concentration for long periods of time

As a Motion Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for:

  • conceptualization and development of 2D animated graphics for corporate film and presentations, animation, digital signage, and immersive spaces
  • presenting creative concepts to internal creative team, management, and clientele
  • creating detailed storyboards
  • working closely with the creative and post-production team to conceptualize and incorporate motion graphics into film
  • illustrating and designing assets for motion design
  • ensuring client work and internal endeavours follow brand standards

Skills and qualifications:

  • minimum of 3 years of related professional experience in the industry and Degree/Diploma in Motion Graphic Design, Animation, Graphic Design, Film or equivalent
  • exceptional design skills with an impeccable sense of movement and typography
  • excellent knowledge of After Effects CC, Photoshop CC and Illustrator CC in a Mac environment
  • self-motivated, quick learner, and a team player
  • the ability to follow specifications and work within tight deadlines
  • excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills, with a desire to give presentations in front of both management and clientele
  • Able to obtain a client’s project requirements, provide a detailed scope, and develop an accurate quote
